Meet Our Therapists

Robin Zagurski LCSW, LIMHP

  • Robin Zagurski holds dual licensure as both a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and an Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP).  As such, she is able to independently diagnose and treat people who have a severe mental health problem.

    Robin has worked in the mental health field all of her life and finished her graduate degree in Social Work at UNO in 1996.  She has extensive experience working with trauma, both in the immediate aftermath of a disaster and the long term effects of traumatic experiences.  She has responded to a number of disasters in the past, including working with the Red Cross in New York City after 9/11, and in helping to coordinate the behavioral health response to the shootings at the Westroads Mall in 2007.  She has been a member of State-wide committees on suicide prevention, threat assessment, Risk Communication and is the primary author of the Nebraska Psychological First Aid Curriculum.

    Robin’s special interests are in treating PTSD, OCD, and post-partum depression.  She is skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and was a Certified CBT therapist for the Treatment of Adolescent Depression Study (TADS) as coordinated by Duke University.

 

Brenda McIlnay, LCSW; LIMHP

  • Brenda McIlnay is a clinical social worker with 21 years of experience working with children, teenagers, and young adults. She holds dual license in clinical social work and independent mental health practitioner. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including outpatient, inpatient, and residential treatment facilities. In the initial session, she works with the client to assess strengths, needs, and goals. Brenda provides individual and family therapy for mood and behavior disorders. Throughout therapy, she works with children and parents to learn skills to improve how they think, feel and interact with others.

    Brenda has done presentations to law enforcement on responding to teenagers in crisis situations.  She co-authored a module on treatment of adolescents for Primary Care Providers in Nebraska. She is skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and her special interests are in treating Depression, Anxiety, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
